While visiting our friend Lorraine today
We talked of many different things
Before too long, the time had gone
Then we heard the telephone ring.
Lorraine's grandchild had telephoned
To see if she was feeling okay
Something to drink was offered to us
For a while longer, we decided to stay.
Lorraine sent Billie to her kitchen
To get a drink for us four
So into each glass was poured a drink
Into one glass, Billie poured more.
JR said, "He would pass,
Mother won't drink hers, I'll have it."
I fooled him: the wine was good
As I drank it all, bit by bit.

What was in that bottle, Lorraine?
'Twas told it was Blackberry Wine
It tasted nice: My nose turned up
With each swallow, tasting divine.
This glass of wine, I drank it all
All three, JR, Billie and Lorraine
Made fun of me with this glass of wine
Then Billie emptied the bottle into mine.
I did not get tipsy-turvy
To me, I felt no different
"When I go home, I'll still drink
My Coca~Cola and be content.
