My home is in Afghanistan
All over this desert I did roam
Where does that little one belong?
He keeps following me ~ won't go home.
This Air Force guy named Mark
We met and soon became "peace buddies"
He kept calling me "Desert Babe:
Out of packages from home, he fed me goodies.
Lots of service men are here
Working and helping to maintain the peace
All over this war-torn country
Will this fighting ever cease?
U. S. Air Force was needed here
So Louisiana sent their very best
Flying their missions everyday
Hitting their targets ~ they stood the test!

Mark took my photo to send back home
Soon my photo was on the Internet
Don't make fun of my handsome kisser
For soon I became everyone's pet.
Faithful to Mark, I served him well
Deployment time had come to an end
He flew back home to the US of A
For "Desert Babe" had made a real friend.
To Barksdale Air Force Base, Mark headed
Wife and daughter stood there waiting
By the tarmac when his plane landed
Soon they're going to be celebrating.
Time spent with Mark, "Desert Babe" will treasure
This "Desert Babe": is really lonesome
If only this camel had a computer
'Cause didn't you know, all camels aren't dumb?
