"Twas twenty years ago, I had to have
A mower that could do a good job
So off to Tyler one day I drove
Lawnmower looking, I did probe.
Looked at lots of mowers that day
Settled on this enticing blue one
'Dixon' was its brand name
Maybe on it, I'd have some fun.
There were rocks to mark the drive
Around these rocks I had to mow
As you can see, I'd move the rock
That Dixon mowed great, row-by-row.
Eight years just flew by
My Dixon was old, tired and worn
I really liked this old mower
The passing of Dixon, I will mourn.
In 1989, JR went shopping this one time
Looked and looked and what did he get?
A handsone orange Husqvarna
I called it "Husky", when first we met.
On hind wheels, my old Dixon pivoted
This "Husky" does it on the front
It took some adjusting getting used to
But soon it was no longer a stunt.
"Husky" has a steering wheel
Hop on and steer like racecar drivers
On Dixon you push, to and fro
Because it only had 2 levers.
A trailer was made for my Dixon
I thing my "Husky" has pulled it the most
For trash and cuttings from growth around
I'll do the hauling: CLEAR THE COAST!
I've been mowing for two de-cades
Don't mind a bit the dirt and grime
Even at my age of Seventy-six
I don't mind for I have lots of time.
