There is this fine young man
Who lives next door to me
I like his name, it's Travis
This boy is very nice, you see.
One day I asked him, "What's up?"
He said, "Teaching my pup to walk"
I had to laugh for the pup was frolicking
About the mower as Travis and I talk.
Travis comes to make a short visit
To see if I'm alright
He told me of the ducks he got
When on his pond, they're a pretty sight.
The last time Travis came to visit
He told me of a visitor I'd had
A bushy - tailed gray fox in the yard
It eyed my birdhouse! Ye ! Gad !
I wonder whence this gray fox came
Was told they're raised nearby
Now and then, a fox is let loose
It was pretty, but oh so sly!
Travis told me of the quails around
So, that was the bird that would not fly
When I was mowing the yard one day
It would not fly! I didn't know why!
I told him 'bout the bird I saw
He told me why it could not fly
No tail feathers does the quail possess
To keep it balanced in the sky.
He has a Husky! I have a Husky
So far, we've never had a race
My Husky takes me to get the mail
Then back to the garage and into it's place.
The Bailey's moved next door from Athens
Should ever I need to call for help
Just phone and let them know.
