There is a mystery at Calico Meadows
Has everyone scratching their head
What happened to my "grease-dripping jar"?
Where did tit go? The news quickly spread!
It was the day for my KitchenAid
To wash all the dishes nice and clean
I placed the grill and briquettes, too
And adding the fan grease screen.
The "grease-dripping jar" was taken outside
To be emptied and turned upside down
So all the grease could drain out clean
So I placed it on the sloping ground.
I used 409 to clean Jen-Air's drip pan
Then wiped it clean and shiny bright
Ready to replace the "grease-dripping jar"
Getting it ready to grill tonight.

I scampered outside to fetch the jar
To the spot where I left it to drain
To my astonishment - - it was gone!
All over the yard I searched in vain.
Who could have taken my "grease-dripping jar"?
Maybe a dog pushed his nose to far
Into the jar for one last lick
He ran away with his nose stuck in my jar.
Or perhaps a gopher could smell the aroma
Of this "grease-dripping jar" of mine
Did the gopher come out of his tunnel?
And carried my jar into his burrow to dine?
So my mystery still goes unsolved
To this very day, I do not know
Just what happened to my "grease-dripping jar"?
Could the mystery be solved by "Miss Calico"?
