Old Red Boots

I'm sitting on the closet shelf

Just a pair of old red boots

Having been worn for many a year

Memories are many: to them I'll salute.

I've been worn to many places

Even atop the Continental Divide

To many U S National Parks

Where I've been and worn with pride.

I'm not tired, I should know.

In all kinds of weather, rain and snow

Work and chores I've been worn

I'm not tired, I should know.

There is life left in me yet

Don't know what the future will be

But I am ready and will to start

Whatever that will be instilled in me.
