As I was looking out my window
Just looking north and then to the south
I noticed the air was full of things
I thought: Invasion of Grasshoppers, due to a drouth.
Just fluttering about, then all started circling
Forming a little whirlwind as it came down my drive
Then I could see they weren't grasshoppers
But leaves, spiraling upward and looking alive.
I rushed thru the house, grabbed camera in hand
Then out the backdoor with hopes to see
Where all the leaves went after leaving the drive
As they reached the hay meadows, all were set free.
The wind continued by the old oak tree
Blowing westward: picking up an old dead branch
About 100 feet that branch did blow
This all took place on Calico's Ranch.
I did not get my photo taken
Of the whirling, swirling wind full of leaves
It was a peculiar and lovely odd sight
Mother Nature's act, I do believe.
