Thinking Of You Today

Just took a little stroll to our back yard

Putting water in the bathtub for all who come

Dumping the coffee grounds, I took a stroll

West of the house to the front I roamed.

In the bluebird bath bowl was one lonely leaf

With water turned on, I got my shirt wet

Water was warm at first then it turned cold

Continuing on I'll get that leaf, I bet.

Rinsing the bowl, I dumped it out

Accidentally dumping water on my shoes

Should I really call it a day and quit?

Seems as tho that's the way my luck goes.

I really did get that chore done

Roamed around the East side of the house

The day was sunny and nice outside, but I went

Back in the house where it was quiet as a mouse.

Pulled off my shirt, into Mr. G. E. Drier

Was too wet to keep on wearing

I'm still coughing and all that stuff

Going to Queen's Tea tomorrow, I've got to be caring.

Mother

October 17, 2002

They may have to import some roses for the affairs

Rosebuds and cold nites, a pretty rose does not make.

Should Saturday's Parade bring rains as shown?

Hope they have slickers for goodness sake.

Would be a shame for them to get wet

Gemstone and rhinestone dresses so pretty

I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope

For on TV, the parade I'll see.

With you being gone, there is no clicking of the keys

I think Mr. Dell is a bit lonesome today

You do your job, get it done right

When you come home, I'll spend your pay.

Now son, it's like I've always said

Just do you best or not at all

You'll find it will not be so hard

Then thru life, you will prevail.
