Scenes of beauty are everywhere
If only you take the time to look
I saw this place of God's beauty
On one of the many trips I took.
In Colorado near Aspen town
Is where I found this se-rene spot
Sitting on a log, I looked all around
My camera in hand, I took this shot.
Was mid-afternoon as we soaked up beauty
With the "Three Bell Peaks" so fair
The sun was hidden by many clouds
Looked dreary with a chill in the air.
At the base of the Three Bell Peaks
Was this cool and lazy nestled Maroon Lake
And from this lake flows clear cool water
Nearby you hear the Aspen leaves quake.

Maroon Peak is one of these
Standing over fourteen thousand feet high
See the "purple mountain majesty"
This sight is really one great treat.
By the stream, flowing from the lake
Sitting on a log, my shoes came off
Just had to wade a little bit
Cold freezing water made me cough.
What is JR up to now?
Where is he going, walking that log?
He says the stream's for Rainbow Trout
It must be, for I've seen nary a frog.
All the beauty spots that I've seen
I've always called it "God's Coun-try"
For who could make such a beauty as this
For all the world to see.
