Three Geese, Husky And Me

I checked the oil,

Fille up with gas,

Cranked up my "Husky"

And off we went in class.

The "husky" is my loyal mower

I had to mow the yard,

Across the back I finished first

Doing that wasn't so hard.

Then to the front of the house I went

Mother and two young geese I spied,

From next door they wandered over

Seeds on the tall grass stems they eyed.

They kept pecking at these seeds

Wandering further away from home

For their safety, I began to fear

In the pasture they should roam.

They were meandering too far south

On the road was heavy traffic,

Old "Husky" and me decided to heard them

Back home, but can we do this quick?

Slowly, half way cross the yard

The geese really did respond,

Then one of the young decided to fly

Flew out of the yard and to its pond.

Across the yard; across the field

The second young took off in flight,

It too, landed on the pond

Then Mother flew; so they're all right.

Old faithful "Husky" and me

We mowed till we got through,

I blew the grass and dirt off "Husky"

Then drove her back into her pew.
