I saw my boots the other day
Old tired boots of yesteryear
So many places they have been
And happy memories that I hold dear.
Near the Cascades where I lived
Where winter's snows fall deep
Some boots is what I really need
With that thought, tonite I'll sleep.
Off to town I drove next day
BOOTS and THINGS were on my mind
To a special store I went
First my boots I had to find.
On display, were these red boots
Must be my lucky day, I thought
Just the right ones I had found
The dark red ones I had bought.

All winter, these boots I'd wear
To town and everywhere
On my winter trips to Texas
And into Spring so fair.
I did chores and worked in them
Many years later, they looked so bad
Covered with scratches and scuffs galore
Old tired boots good times we've had.
Having been worn for many years
Alone on the closet shelf they sit
A pair of tired old boots well worn
Happy memories are many. That I'll admit.
