Two Oyster Shells

Strolling along the sandy shore

One sunny beautiful day

I found a different kind of treasure

Here in Gal-vest-ton Bay.

Have you ever had the luck

To find an interesting shell

Just lying on the sandy beach

Where other creatures dwell?

Among my treasured rocks

This one lies by my kitchen rack

The two gray oyster shells

That's fused together, back to back.

Long time it's been at sea

Grew tired and washed ashore

It has class and character

Beauty like this, I've never seen before.

When I say class and character

Little shells have fused to it

Enhancing the beauty of my treasure

It's a little different, I'll admit.

So, among my several collectibles

I've added this one big oyster shell

I'll leave it by the kitchen sink

Its own story, it can tell.
